Whilst we (P.M.B.) continue to do our best raise funds to donate to Breakaway, we also assist around the house where possible, one of our most recent projects was the construction of a new Shed, clean up of the back yard and also the construction of two garden beds for the guests to maintain.... See Da Boss's (President's) message below....

I would just like to thank everyone that had a hand in the Breakaway Garden Bed Project.

Well done to all the crew who put in a big effort during the project. Bill, Macca, KJ, Dab, Stevie-b, Viv Kid and also myself and also a big thanks to Carmel for bringing up lunch to feed the workers.

Not only did we build the garden beds, but we also achieved the following;
  • Mulched away a big pile of garden waist,
  • Moved /relocated a big mound of dirt,
  • Mowed the grass,
  • Did the edges,
  • Pruned a few bushes,
  • Raked the leaves,
  • Removed a trailer load of rubbish to the Tip, and
  • Invigorated an old garden bed

Further Information about Breakaway Inc:

Breakaway Inc. is a not for profit community respite house supporting people with disabilities (and their families) in the Redcliffe , Caboolture and Pine Rivers areas. The purpose is to provide quality care, mutual respect and support for families of people with disabilities in a warm, safe, family environment.´Breakaway provides overnight respite for individuals with high support needs.

The services provided by Breakaway include, centre based overnight support, centre based emergency support, in home support, emergency in home support, brokerage for in home support, parent support and networking, vacation care programs and post school lifestyle programs.

Breakaway operates 24 hours per day for 49 weeks per year. Breakaway closes for one week in July and two weeks over the Christmas and New Year Period.

Breakaway provides a respite service for persons aged 0 – 65 years who have high support needs.

Whilst we (P.M.B.) are continuing to raise funds and also assist where possible to build upon Breakaways great foundations, we would still appreciate any assistance or donations where possible, whether it be monetary or service related or donations of goods that we can raffle off to raise additional money?

Every donation or offer of assistance is very much appreciated by our chapter, as this will enable us to contribute further to the growth of such a wonderful organisation!
